Dutchman is under pressure after miserable run
Thomas Frank is "1000%" sure Arne Slot will turn things around at Liverpool as he backed the Dutchman to stay calm amid mounting pressure.
Slot led Liverpool to the Premier League title last season in his first year in England, and the club then spent big in the summer to seemingly set themselves up for another strong push.
However, Liverpool sit 12th in the table and already 11 points off the pace set by Arsenal. The Reds have lost nine of their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Tottenham have struggled themselves under Frank with three wins in 12 matches, but the Dane pointed to the example at Liverpool as evidence of how unpredictable results can be.
"I think football is extremely fascinating," Frank said.
"It's so complex and we all try to analyse and understand it. If you look at Liverpool now, the manage Arne Slot I admire massively.
"Did fantastic stepping into the first season in the Premier League, won it. Incredible in every way. And now they are struggling a bit and they have a bad spell.
"I'm convinced he will find a way out. Convinced, convinced. But I don't think anyone has predicted that before we start the season. That's just sometimes football.
"But that's the thing we sometimes struggle to understand."
Spurs host Liverpool in the Premier League on December 20 and Slot is still expected to be in the visiting dugout by that point, even with the disastrous recent run.
The Dutchman said after Liverpool's 4-1 defeat to PSV on Wednesday night that he is still "feeling safe" in his job.
Frank has backed Slot to ignore the external noise and get Liverpool on the right path again.
"Arne is clearly an unbelievable coach," the Spurs boss said.
"What he did at Feyenoord, how he's stepped into Liverpool. Incredible. So he will 1000% find a way out of that. And I don't know him personally but he will stay calm.
"Him and his coaching staff will find a solution and they will go again. In football, some managers, some clubs are privileged not to have too many setbacks. Maybe it's just one game, others have a big spell.
"So yes, there will be setbacks. But how you handle them and come back from them is the key."
Asked about the level of scrutiny and reactionary analysis from one match to another, Frank added: "I'm maybe not the best coach in the world after we beat City away. Probably not the worst coach in the world after we lost a game."
"So that's just the way it is. It's how we build something over time."
