The Lilywhites have scored the joint sixth-most goals (25) in the Premier League this season, but only three teams have accumulated fewer non-penalty expected goals (15.1 npxG) in the opening 16 games.

Johnson was Spurs‘ top goal scorer last season with 18 goals in all competitions, including the winner against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final.

The Wales international has found the net four times this term but has only been used sparingly by new head coach Thomas Frank. After starting in each of the first three top-flight games, he has made just three starts since then.

According to the BBC, Spurs are “not actively looking to sell” Johnson, but are “open” to a deal if a “suitable offer” is received.

Several clubs have been “alerted” to his potential availability, with both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace linked with the 24-year-old in recent weeks.

Johnson arrived at Spurs from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5 million in 2023. He has registerest 27 goals and 14 assists in all competitions since joining the north London outfit.
