Spurs Winless All Year As Club At Risk Of Relegation

Tottenham Hotspur are the only Premier League side without a win in 2026.

The Spurs sit just 4 points above the relegation zone and are at genuine risk of relegation – and their new manager, Igor Tudor, has got off to the worst possible start, losing 4-1 to rivals Arsenal.

While last season looked like an outlier when Spurs tampered with relegation, this year could be the one when it truly happens, with a competitive relegation battle in store.

A Sorry start

Tottenham’s loss to Arsenal is their biggest at home to the Gunners in the league since December 1978.

And new boss, Igor Tudor, is the first Tottenham Hotspur manager to lose their first Premier League game in charge since Andre Villas-Boas in August 2012. While Arsenal are a difficult opponent, it’s a disastrous start for the Croatian to lose in such a state.

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven, speaking to Sky Sports: “It’s a risk when you go man for man and if one man is late then you’re going to be open but when you win the ball high, there are so many options for us. But on the opposite, when they come out, it’s a big risk.”

Spurs’ newfound aggressive, man-to-man approach under Tudor could help them – or be their demise. A style that is often hard for a playing squad to get used to, it could be the latter.

Micky van de Ven on Igor Tudor: “He is on us all week. Every day we worked on it. It’s his first week and he wants to help us in every way. We have all the week to prepare for Fulham.

“We need to win the games. Step by step. We play Fulham now.”

Relegation is Possible

With Wolves and Burnley already looking certain to go down this season, the race to stay away from that 18th-place spot is heating up.

The four teams in the mix are West Ham (currently 18th), Nottingham Forest (currently 17th), Leeds United (currently 15th), and Spurs themselves – four points off the bottom three as it stands.

Spurs had just three outfield first-teamers on their bench against Arsenal; a squad plagued by injuries for a third consecutive year and in a sorry state of affairs. While they have been dreadfully mismanaged on the pitch, on the transfer front it is not pretty either.

Nottingham Forest looked dangerous under new manager Vitor Pereira against Liverpool. West Ham are edging out results, as are Leeds United. By no means is this task going to be easy.

Tottenham’s situation is starting to look bleak, and a club that is seen as one of the giants of English football cannot be counted out to go down, despite Tudor insisting that they would be “one hundred per cent” safe from the drop.
