Lainer out due to injury, others in doubt

Tomorrow's the day! Our Red Bulls depart for their winter training camp in Belek, Turkey. The accommodation for our eight days in Turkey, the Hotel Regnum The Crown, also boasts its own training pitch just a few minutes away, which we will hold eleven sessions on.

In addition, there are two friendly matches planned: one against Polish runners-up Rakow Czestochowa (Saturday 10 January at 16:00 local time / 14:00 CET at the Titanic Mardan Palace Hotel in Belek) and the other against Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade. The match against Marko Arnautovic & Co. will take place on Thursday 15 January (17:00 local time / 15:00 CET) at the Regnum Carya Golf Resort in Belek.

Some 28 players, including four goalkeepers, plan to travel to Belek. Aleksa Terzic is not yet with the team, having missed the Bayern Munich match due to illness. Depending on his recovery, he is expected to join later.

Lainer out with op, Schuster and Zawieschitzky have to leave early

Stefan Lainer will definitely not take part. He suffered a fracture on his hand in yesterday's friendly against Bayern Munich and will require surgery. Takumu Kawamura will also be unavailable due to his knee injury.

Douglas Mendes and Valentin Sulzbacher are not able to take part in the training camp due to calf injuries sustained against Bayern in the friendly match.

Jannik Schuster and Christian Zawieschitzky, on the other hand, will be making a short trip to Turkey, as both are required to report for their mandatory military service with the Austrian Armed Forces on 12 January.

We want to make the best possible use of our preparation time to improve during the training camp, and we're really looking forward to it. We have very high standards at the club, which we want to meet and ultimately win titles. That's why the time in Belek is so important, because we can work in a focused and targeted way. I'm happy that we currently have so many fit players, for whom these coming days are particularly important on their road to recovery.
