Squad trains with media present at Cidade do Galo

Galo’s professional squad held another session at Cidade do Galo on the morning of this Friday (7/10), as part of the mid-season break schedule aimed at the continuation of the 2026 season.

With part of the training session open to the press, journalists were able to observe the work led by Eduardo Domínguez’s coaching staff, which remains focused on the team’s technical, tactical, and physical adjustments ahead of the return of official competitions.

After warming up, the players took part in ball drills, small-sided exercises, and specific work on movement and team organization, in another important stage of Alvinegro’s preparation during the break in the calendar.

In addition to the on-field activity, the open training session was also an opportunity to showcase a bit of the behind-the-scenes work of the high-performance football operation carried out daily at Cidade do Galo.

The club’s Physiology Coordinator, Roberto Chiari, explained to Galo TV H2bet how real-time monitoring helps the coaching staff control players’ workloads during training sessions and matches.

“Today all players use GPS devices attached to their vests, which allows us to track information in real time such as distance covered, number of sprints, accelerations, decelerations, and braking actions. This data helps ensure that the physical goals planned for each session are met, allowing immediate adjustments whenever necessary,” Chiari said.

The professional also highlighted the players’ growing involvement with the performance indicators generated throughout the activities, closely following the metrics and their own physical development.

Performance Analysis Coordinator Matheus Dupin detailed the work carried out by the department responsible for studying both the team and its opponents, as well as its integration with the coaching staff and the club’s data department.

“Performance analysis works on two fronts: monitoring our team and studying opponents. We use videos, data, and different technological tools to identify patterns and provide information that helps the coaching staff and players prepare for matches,” he explained.

Dupin also highlighted Galo’s investments in technology and infrastructure to support the development of professional football.

“Today we have drones, specialized software, analysis platforms, and a very strong data department, which allows us to work with cutting-edge tools and provide increasingly accurate information to the coaching staff and players,” he added.

This Friday’s open training session was also broadcast live on Galo TV H2bet, bringing the Atleticana fanbase footage of the work carried out at Cidade do Galo, along with interviews and special content on the behind-the-scenes of Alvinegro’s preparation.

At the end of the session, players Maicon and Passini spoke to the media present in the mixed zone, sharing their impressions of the preparation period and the remainder of the season.

Atlético’s preparation will continue over the coming days at Cidade do Galo. As part of the mid-season break schedule, the professional squad will play a training match against Betim next Wednesday (7/15) at 9:30 a.m. at Alvinegro’s training center.

The activity is part of the coaching staff’s plan for the return of official competitions, providing another opportunity for tactical adjustments, gaining match rhythm, and evaluating the squad ahead of the remainder of the 2026 season.
