FC St. Pauli will have to manage without James Sands for the coming months.
The Bundesliga club announced on Friday that the 25-year-old United States international will undergo surgery on an ankle injury, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.

The operation is scheduled to take place in Munich on Friday.
Sands sustained the injury during last week’s 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
He has made a total of 28 appearances for St. Pauli this season.
