Oliver Glasner's first Premier League match in charge of Nottingham Forest ended in disappointment as Leeds United snatched a late 1-0 victory at the City Ground.

Forest's latest managerial appointment was involved in a tightly contested encounter, with both sides struggling to create clear openings in a match largely decided by set-pieces.

Leeds thought they had taken the lead before the half-hour mark when Harry Wilson converted Jayden Bogle's low cross, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

Forest then came close themselves just before the break, with Jair Cunha seeing his header strike the post following a corner.

The hosts continued to threaten after half-time, with Igor Jesus heading Ola Aina's cross narrowly wide before Chris Wood missed another opportunity following a strong run from Murillo.

Leeds had their best chance when Tarik Muharemovic's header forced Matz Sels into a good save, but the visitors eventually found the breakthrough in the 88th minute.

Anton Stach won a free-kick after being challenged by Nikola Milenkovic and then caught Sels out at his near post with a clever delivery to seal three points.

The result means Forest's last seven new managers have all lost their opening Premier League game. The sides meet again on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup.
