The axe has fallen at Stade Renard de Melong. The Cameroonian club has terminated the contract of their head coach, Souleymanou Aboubakar, with immediate effect following an especially challenging start to the league campaign. His assistant, Ivo Mesumbe, is also leaving the technical staff.

Souleymanou Aboubakar is the first casualty of Stade Renard’s disastrous opening to the season. Club officials have decided to part ways with him after eight matchdays without a single win. The Melong Foxes have posted a worrying record of six draws and two defeats, a sequence that has left the team at the bottom of the standings.

Souleymanou Aboubakar thus becomes the first coach to be sacked this season in the Cameroonian top flight. The club is expected to announce a replacement swiftly in a bid to turn things around and avoid letting this poor start become an insurmountable setback.
