Standout star carries Santos past São Paulo | OneFootball

Gabriel Barbosa hauled Santos level in the 36th minute with a glancing header, then struck after the restart to seal a 2-1 win at São Paulo.

He first attacked Gonzalo Escobar's cross, guiding a header into the bottom left to cancel out the Tricolor Paulista opener. The movement was sharp and central, with the finish precise from close range.

After the restart, he arrived between the centre-backs to sweep a left footed finish into the bottom left (54.), converting Éverton's pass as the Peixe broke through midfield space.

He ended with two goals from three attempts, two on target, and five touches in the box, underlining his ruthless edge for the Alvinegro Praiano. He is now on 13 league goals, third in the Brasileirão scoring.

Repeated central runs and assured first touches kept the Soberano back line unsettled, while combinations with Escobar and Éverton provided the service that decided the contest.

Peixe sit seventh and host Flamengo next. The Tricolor Paulista visit Cruzeiro next.
