Ryoya Morishita struck in the 54th minute to put Blackburn Rovers ahead in a 1-1 draw with Coventry City. The midfielder's clean finish set the tone for a tight second half.
The goal came from the centre of the box, Morishita arriving between markers to sweep his left-footed effort into the middle of the net (54.).
He stayed busy after the breakthrough, carrying the ball into dangerous areas and completing two successful dribbles as Blackburn Rovers tried to stretch Coventry City's back line.
The Japan international's numbers backed up his influence: two attempts, one on target, six touches in the area, and 19 of 22 passes completed. He also made seven recoveries and two clearances, working both ways as the game tightened.
His movement kept lanes open because he consistently received the ball between Coventry City's wing-back and centre-back, helping Blackburn Rovers control key attacking moments until a late equaliser arrived (84.).
Blackburn Rovers visit Sheffield United next, while Coventry City host Portsmouth. How high would you rate Morishita's performance tonight?
