Tyreece John-Jules struck in the first minute of first half stoppage time to tilt the game Kilmarnock's way, setting up a hat-trick as Kilmarnock beat St Mirren 4-3.

That stoppage time finish arrived after he had already threatened from range and from set pieces, and it changed the momentum just before the interval. The forward found space in the centre to guide a low effort into the corner.

After the restart he stayed central to attack second balls. In the 76th minute he pounced from close range following an initial save to restore Kilmarnock's advantage. He then completed his treble (82.) with a composed finish from Robbie Deas' through ball.

John-Jules finished with six attempts, four on target and five touches in the box, plus one key pass. The shot volume and accuracy underlined how repeatedly he got goal-side of centre-backs and turned attacks into clear chances.

His direct runs between defenders and instinct around rebounds kept St Mirren unsettled, ensuring Kilmarnock controlled the decisive phases when the game became stretched late on.

Kilmarnock host Celtic next in the Scottish Premiership. St Mirren visit Hibernian.
