Rémy Labeau Lascary put Brest ahead in the 58th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box, before Lille and Brest finished 1-1.
He had signalled danger early, darting in from the left to shoot wide (24.). Soon after, a low effort from the same channel was saved as he continued to attack that flank (36.).
After the restart he released Daouda Guindo to shoot from a tight angle (52.). He then slid a pass for Romain Del Castillo, whose attempt flew over (57.). Moments later, after Ludovic Ajorque's lay-off, he drove a precise shot into the bottom right from range (58.).
He finished with three attempts, two on target, three key passes and one big chance created, plus five touches in the box. Withdrawn in the second half, his 70 minutes set Brest's counter-attacking tone.
Because he kept finding space on the left and linked quickly into runners, his movements repeatedly stretched Lille's back line and gave Brest a platform to break with purpose.
Brest host Marseille next. Lille visit Angers.
