Amine Gouiri settled it in the 79th minute with a composed finish into the bottom left corner, as Marseille beat Auxerre 1-0 in Ligue 1.
Introduced from the bench just after the hour, the Algeria international immediately offered penetration between the lines for Les Olympiens, taking up central pockets and asking different questions of a packed back five.
His decisive moment came when he arrived through the middle to sweep home low across the goalkeeper. From there he stayed busy, forcing a block from the centre after another direct carry (85.).
Gouiri's cameo was efficient and tidy: two attempts, one on target, two touches in the box and three recoveries across 28 minutes. He also completed five of 10 passes and won a tackle, keeping Marseille on the front foot.
Because Auxerre's 5-4-1 narrowed centrally, his movement across the front and willingness to attack the inside channels repeatedly unsettled the visitors, ensuring Les Phocéens controlled the key late phases.
