Gabriel Menino equalised in the first minute of first half stoppage time with a right-footed strike from outside the box, but Chapecoense beat Santos 4-2.
In the 12th minute he drove just wide from distance after a short set piece with Miguel Terceros. He then glanced a header off target (35.). Moments later, he teed up Gustavo Caballero for a chance that flew high (39.).
On the stroke of half time he levelled with a crisp finish into the top right corner from outside the area, meeting Igor Vinicius' pass.
After the restart he whipped another effort over from range (54.) and saw a shot blocked soon after (55.). He then met Zé Rafael's pass for a low strike that Léo Vieira gathered (72.).
He finished with six attempts, two on target, four key passes and 32 successful final third passes from 100 touches, repeatedly pulling the Peixe up the pitch.
The display comes with the Alvinegro Praiano in the relegation places, while the Verdão do Oeste sit top after the opening round. Peixe host São Paulo next, while Chape visit Vasco da Gama.
