José Hurtado fashioned the first opening in the second minute, underpinning RB Bragantino's 0-0 draw against Coritiba with a composed, front-foot display down the right.
From the outset, the Ecuador defender overlapped to feed José Herrera for a rising attempt (2.), pushing Braga up the pitch and establishing territory on the flank.
After the restart he repeated the pattern, slipping Herrera in again to draw a save from Pedro Rangel (60.). Then he stood up a teasing cross that Isidro Pitta headed over from the middle (82.), keeping Massa Bruta on the front foot.
Hurtado's numbers matched the eye test: three key passes, nine recoveries and 35 of 38 passes completed. His 14 successful passes in the final third reflected how he connected phases and sustained pressure without neglecting his defensive work.
Because Braga's shape gave him the channel early and often, his overlaps pinned Coxa back, while his interceptions and clearances snuffed out counters that might have lifted Coxa-Branca.
Massa Bruta remain fifth and now host Cristal in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana, while Coxa welcome Cruzeiro next in the league.
