Standout star steers FC Twente past Cambuur | OneFootball

Younes Taha settled the contest in the 82nd minute with a left-footed finish, as FC Twente won 4-1 at Cambuur.

Early on, Taha kept arriving from the right to shoot from distance and take up pockets between the lines, pinning Cambuur's wing-back and centre-back.

Before the break he slipped a pass inside for Daouda Weidmann to shoot, then after the restart he continued to receive on the half-turn and later fed Filip Thorvaldsen for a blocked effort as Twente kept the hosts penned in.

He finished with six attempts, three chances created and 25 successful final third passes, a mix of end product and control that underlined why Twente repeatedly progressed down his flank. Eight recoveries added defensive bite to a rounded display.

Because Twente's double pivot circulated quickly into wide zones, Taha could isolate his marker and drive at the box, forcing Cambuur onto their heels and opening central lanes for runners.

FC Twente rise from 12th to ninth and visit Groningen next. Cambuur remain bottom and travel to Telstar next.
