Arthur Okonkwo preserved Charlton Athletic's lead in the 38th minute with a flying save, anchoring an eight-save display as they beat West Ham United 2-1.

He then clawed away Valentin Castellanos's header in the first minute of first half stoppage time, refusing to let the hosts build momentum.

After the restart, he gathered another Castellanos header (55). He then sprang left to tip away Joel Piroe's rising strike (60).

Under sustained pressure late on, Okonkwo blocked Piroe's close-range header (74). Moments later, he parried a stinging drive from Castellanos (74). He also stood firm to beat out Divine Mukasa's effort from the centre of the box (77).

He finished with eight saves from nine on-target attempts by the Hammers. The Irons launched 25 attempts and slung in 38 crosses, yet Okonkwo's handling and positioning kept Charlton composed.
