Standout star's quickfire double tilts it for Feyenoord against Excelsior

Ayase Ueda equalised in the 58th minute and then clinched it moments later, leading Feyenoord to a 2-1 win over Excelsior.

He timed his near-post run perfectly to steer in Jordan Bos's cross (58.). Moments later, Ueda accelerated onto Raheem Sterling's through ball and slotted low into the same corner (59.), turning pressure into points inside two minutes.

He stayed busy after that. Ueda also created a late opening, crossing for Anis Hadj Moussa to draw a save (79.). He finished with four attempts, all on target, and seven touches in the box, a constant threat between the posts.

Because Feyenoord kept finding him centrally, he could attack the gaps between centre-backs. That movement unsettled Excelsior's line and ensured the hosts controlled the decisive phase after the restart.
