Stanišić and Croatia lose to Belgium in World Cup warm-up

The Croatian national team, featuring FC Bayern defender Josip Stanišić, suffered a defeat against Belgium on Tuesday evening in a World Cup warm-up, going down 2-0 in Rijeka. Youri Tielemans put Belgium ahead in the 38th minute before Romelu Lukaku (90'+6) doubled the lead just as the final whistle blew. Stanišić started the game and was substituted in the 58th minute.

Croatia play another friendly against Slovenia on 7 June, and in their opening match of the World Cup on 17 June, Stanišić and his national team will face FCB teammate Harry Kane and England.
