NYCFC have stadium location approved

According to the New York Post, NYC Mayor Eric Adams has approved a location in Queens near Citi Field, home of Major League Baseball’s New York Mets, for a 25,000-seater stadium.

NYCFC themselves are said to be “close” to being approved. The stadium could be ready by 2026 should the approval process go ahead without any hiccups.

Luis Suárez rejects MLS for Nacional return

Suárez announced on social media that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with his boyhood club, Club Nacional de Football in Uruguay.

It was reported earlier in the day that Seattle Sounders owned the player’s ‘discovery rights’, meaning any club that would have wanted him would have been forced to deal with Seattle.
