State ordered to pay FC Porto SAD €15,000

The Portuguese State was ordered to pay FC Porto SAD compensation of 15,300 euros for material damages, in addition to 6,465 euros in expenses and costs associated with the proceedings, following a violation of the right to freedom of expression. The decision was made public this Tuesday by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

This decision stems from a fine imposed on the Dragons by the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Football Federation, following a newsletter criticizing refereeing, published on April 8, 2019.
