Having peppered Emiliano Martínez's goal from the first minute to the last on Wednesday night, Paris Saint-Germain attempted 29 shots over the course of the encounter, thereby establishing their highest number of shots in a single Champions League game this season. In fact, six of those 29 shots came from Désiré Doué, who, by scoring the equaliser against The Villans, now boasts five goals in his last four appearances for Paris across all competitions. At just 19 years and 310 days old, the newest member of Les Bleus' squad has also become the second-youngest Frenchman to score in a UCL quarter-final.

Although Doué was the one to get his side back on level terms, it was Nuno Mendes who took charge of closing out Les Parisiens' show of strength by scoring their third and final goal in the dying moments of the match. Having played the final pass for Doué's goal in the first half, the Portuguese full-back turned from assist provider to goal scorer for the very first time since his arrival in the French capital in 2021, and, with eight goal involvements to his name this season (scoring four and assisting in four others), the no. 25 has now equalled his highest-ever total for goal contributions in a single campaign with Paris.

By following up their victories over Salzburg (3-0), Manchester City (4-2), Stuttgart (4-1), Brest (3-0 and 7-0) and Liverpool (1-0) with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa, Paris Saint-Germain notched up a seventh success in their last eight Champions League outings, with the only exception being the late 1-0 defeat that they suffered in the first leg of their clash with Liverpool.

Despite going behind to an opportunistic Villa side, Les Parisiens managed to turn the tide and earn their seventh win after conceding the opening goal in a game this season. This feat was all the more significant given that Luis Enrique's men thereby equalled their highest number of wins of this kind in a single season (also seven in 1985–1986 and in 2003–2004).

Once again a constant presence in midfield, Vitinha alone had 164 touches against the Birmingham-based outfit, while the Portuguese international also attempted 152 passes over the course of the match, setting the highest such total for a Champions League match this season. Fellow midfielder Fabián Ruiz was involved in Paris's second goal – sumptuously finished off by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – and, in doing so, provided his fourth assist of the current European campaign.

Further up the pitch, not only did Ousmane Dembélé set up his side's final goal of the encounter, but the France international also racked up a total of nine key passes, the highest tally achieved by a player in a Champions League match since April 2021. Furthermore, since Opta records began for the competition in 2003–2004, no player from the capital club has done better.
