Stellenbosch settle for a draw in Confed Cup

Stellenbosch FC were held to a goalless draw by 15 de Agosto of Equatorial Guinea in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round on Saturday.

The Cape Winelands outfit couldn't score the crucial away goal and will now have to firmly shut the door in their backyard.

On the other hand, Agosto will be pleased with not conceding at home, which puts pressure on the Betway Premiership side.

The return leg is penciled in for Sunday, 26 October at Athlone Stadium, where Steve Barker's men will be banking on their home supporters to get them over the line.

It remains to be seen whether last season's semi-finalists can progress to the group stages of the competition this campaign.
