Simba SC's new head coach, Steve Barker, is anticipated to finally arrive in Dar es Salaam this coming weekend, a week after his high-profile move from Stellenbosch FC was officially announced.

While the Tanzanian giants confirmed the appointment last week, stating the manager could "arrive anytime," the South African tactician has not yet begun his tenure. According to local reports, his touchdown in East Africa is now imminent.

"Based on our timetable, the coach will arrive shortly after Christmas, possibly on Boxing Day or December 28," an anonymous source told the Soccerladuma website. The source also confirmed that Barker will have immediate authority to take charge, adding, "He has been given full authority to join the team and begin work straight away."

Upon arrival, Barker's initial task will be to integrate with the current setup. "For now, he will work with the existing technical bench under Matola, and alongside his own assistants," the source revealed, indicating that a broader assessment of the technical team will follow. "Any further decisions on the technical team will be made after he has fully settled in."
