Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has set sights on ending his team's winless run ahead of their clash against Singida Black Stars on Wednesday (15:15).
The Reds of Msimbazi played to back-to-back goalless stalemates against Dodoma Jiji and bitter rivals Young Africans in the Kariakoo derby, respectively.
Barker's men sit fourth with 24 points from 11 league outings in the NBC Premier League, trailing log leaders Yanga with eight points, albeit played one game less.
Now, the South African mentor is out to steer his troops back to winning ways as they search for their first championship since the 2020/21 campaign.
“I think obviously it's a massive game for us, we come off two goalless draws in the league, so very important for us to get ourselves back on track. We need to win and get maximum points,” Barker asserted.
Though hell-bent on claiming Singida's scalp, Barker is not oblivious to the threat posed by their opponents, with crucial three points at stake.
'But we do understand Singida are a really good team that come off a good season last year and are a very competitive team and well-coached, so we have to make sure that tomorrow we play to our full potential and we put in a performance that gives us the opportunity to win that game," he added.
"So, to all our fans, as I keep promising we will give 100% commitment on the field, we will prepare the best that we can to ensure that we continue to make them proud, so looking forward to the game - big game for us.
