Steve Cooper faces growing scrutiny at Brondby after a 0-0 home draw with Sonderjyske on Monday sparked fresh doubt over his future.

The stalemate extended a league run of six matches without a win dating back to November. Brondby sit third in the Superliga, 14 points behind leaders AGF and eight off second-placed FC Midtjylland.

“I think we have some pretty strong question marks next to these recruitment errors, which we must see as existing for now,” said Peter Sorensen to Tipsbladet.

“The players don't seem to be the right ones. Does the sports director seem to be the right one? He certainly hasn't convinced me of that.”

“Does the coach [Cooper] seem to be the right one? I actually doubt that too – even though he has coached some teams in the Premier League. I can't see where they are going. There is no recognition in the way they play.”

Cooper was appointed Brondby boss in September in a surprise move and has endured a challenging recent spell.

He led Nottingham Forest to Premier League promotion in his first season after arriving in 2021, finished 16th the following year, then left in December 2023.

He later spent five months in charge of Leicester in 2024 after replacing Enzo Maresca.
