Cole Palmer is finally fit and firing for Chelsea, and former Liverpool man Steven Gerrard is worried about what that means for the Reds.
We’re now into the final third of the season, and teams are looking very seriously at their league standings.
Chelsea are once again in the battle for the Champions League places, but are the form team in that group right now. They’re playing well, and have their star player Cole Palmer back fit.
Steven Gerrard was on TNT Sport last week, and he’s worried about whether Liverpool will be able to keep pace with a Palmer-inspired Blues team.

“Chelsea are a completely different animal when Palmer is playing,” Gerrard said on the coverage of his old team’s narrow 1-0 win over Sunderland last week.
“Every game remaining is big for Liverpool. With Palmer back, that’s a massive concern for others. The type of player who doesn’t just score goals; he changes the entire gravity of the pitch. When he’s on it, Chelsea look like a completely different animal.”
That should be especially the case this week when we take on Burnley. Palmer has a superb record against the Clarets, and had a rest on Friday in the FA Cup. If he really is back to his best, we’re about to find out, and Gerrard and Liverpool are right to be worried.
Yan Diomande is a player in a lot of demand, and Chelsea could have bought him years ago – but he says he’s happy he never joined them.
Chelsea striker Liam Delap had one horrific moment at the weekend which is going to live long in the memory, and Liam Rosenior’s attempts to defend him reveal a lot.
