Brighton have no plans to recall Amario Cozier Duberry to Bolton Wanderers' delight
Bolton Wanderers and Steven Schumacher have been handed a big boost as Brighton have no plans to recall Amario Cozier-Duberry in January.
There are very few teams that you'd rather support right now than Bolton Wanderers based on current form, as the Trotters are currently on a four-game win streak in League One and a big part of that is down to their talented Brighton loanee, Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has made an outstanding impression in Greater Manchester, and has introduced himself as one of the third tier's hottest prospects.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form with it only being his second season in the EFL after spending last year on loan with Blackburn Rovers. Fast-forward to now and the England youth international is tearing up League One, having scored six goals and provided six assists in 15 appearances, making himself one of the first names on Steven Schumacher's teamsheet.
With the winger proving that he is more than capable of producing at League One level, there have been rumours circulating that Brighton could recall their talented winger in January and loan him out to a Championship club for the second half of the season. However, they have been waved away as journalist Elliot Cook, revealed that Brighton will not take any action in a couple of months time as the Premier League outfit are 'Impressed with progress'.

Even though Cozier-Duberry has only played 15 league games for the Trotters, it's clear to see the impact that he has had on those around him, as he has been the spark that Schumacher's side needed this season in order to achieve the goal of a play-off spot that ever so slightly eluded them last term.
The winger has been arguably Bolton's biggest threat and has formed a tight-knit partnership with fellow in-form teammate Mason Burstow. The pair's goal contributions have been key to leading their side into third in the League One table and two points off the top spot. It's fair to say that without the 20-year-old at Schumacher's disposal, this season could look different at this stage.
So, with it now confirmed that Bolton will retain Cozier-Duberry's services until the end of the season, it will certainly be warmly welcomed by the manager as well as the fans who have fallen into the trap of the saying 'never fall in love with a loan player.'
With it seeming as though Bolton are destined to go up after consecutive play-off campaigns the season before last, the introduction of the Brighton loanee could well be that slight difference and injection of young talent that the Trotters need in order to gain promotion back to the second tier after a seven-year absence.
One side of the winger's game, aside from the goal threat he brings, is his work ethic in defence. The 20-year-old averages 1.76 tackles per 90 as well as wins 5.56 duels per game, highlighting his willingness to run and help his team going backwards, which is a testament to the philosophy that both Arsenal and Brighton's academies respectively, have installed in the youngster.
His desire to give his all for the badge despite being newly introduced, is a quality that has won over the hearts of the Bolton faithful and has created a well-oiled machine that has every chance of clinching promotion to the Championship.

After already proving that he is more than good enough and even levels above League One, it would come as no surprise if Cozier-Duberry is loaned out by Brighton to the Championship next season, with clubs already highlighting the youngster amongst their list of targets.
This was the case for Sheffield United, who already showed their interest in the winger back in September. But with Brighton keeping proceedings as they are in regards to Cozier-Duberry's future for the time being, a change in club and league midway through the season could disrupt his rhythm and put him off his stride, as life in Bolton is pretty sweet for him right now.
This way of thinking has been reciprocated on social media, as one fan commented via journalist, Elliot Cook's X post by saying: "It's the correct call, he is fantastic, but he is not getting in the Brighton team, and moving him to a championship club may unsettle him. His value is going up staying where he is."
The decision made by Brighton could prove pivotal to Bolton’s promotion hopes this season, especially with a busy winter schedule on the horizon. Everybody connected with the Trotters will be hopeful that Cozier-Duberry can continue his goalscoring form and cement their place in the play-off places come May, or even go one step further and achieve automatic promotion.
