The STJD has charged Kaio César and both Corinthians and Bahia after the 1-1 draw on Sunday. The forward is cited under CBJD Article 250, which covers hostile acts such as pushing off the ball, and could be banned for one to three matches at a hearing set for Thursday at 10:00. According to Meu Timao, the case centres on an alleged off-the-ball incident.
The incident occurred immediately after the half-time whistle at Arena Fonte Nova, following a touchline tussle between Kaio and Zé Guilherme. Alejo Véliz confronted the Corinthians player then fell to the turf, appearing to simulate being struck.
Prosecutor Marcos Souto Maior argues Kaio initiated the turmoil by making a hostile move towards Véliz, while evidence gathered did not conclusively show a blow that would constitute physical aggression.
The scuffle drew in players and staff from both sides. Corinthians and Bahia have been cited under Article 257 for taking part in a brawl, with a fine of up to R$ 20,000 possible.
Referee Ramon Abatti Abel has also been reported under Article 266 for failing to record the interval fracas in his match report, an offence that carries a suspension of 30 to 360 days and a potential fine.
Corinthians host Athletico-PR at Neo Química Arena on Thursday at 19:30 in round 21 of the Brasileirão.
