O Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva, STJD, rejeitou o pedido do Santos para anular a partida contra o Coritiba, disputada no último domingo na Neo Química Arena, após alegação de erro de substituição envolvendo Neymar.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos argued an error of law by the match officials when Neymar was removed against the coaching staff’s instruction and the official substitution protocol.

The incident occurred 20 minutes into the second half while Neymar was receiving treatment on the touchline. The fourth official raised the board to take the No 10 off for Robinho Junior, while Santos say they had requested Escobar. After the confusion, Neymar attempted to return to the pitch and was booked.

The CBF was cited by the STJD and requested that the annulment be dismissed. Santos submitted match footage and a statement from Cesar Sampaio, and Coritiba also addressed the hearing.

Prosecutora Rita de Cássia Ancelmo Bueno advised the claim was unfounded, citing no proof of an error de direito and adding that any alleged mistake would not have altered the result. Auditors Maxwell Borges de Moura Vieira, Rodrigo Aiache, Marcelo Augusto F. Bellizze, Marco Aurélio de Lima Choy, Antonieta da Silva Pinto, and president Luís Otávio Veríssimo Teixeira endorsed the view, making the decision unanimous.
