The STJD has set a hearing for Palmeiras No 10 Paulinho over a gesture made after the third goal in their 3-0 win at Flamengo.
According to Nosso Palestra, the case will be heard on Thursday 28 at 10:00, Brasília time. The match at the Maracanã was part of the 17th round, with goals from Flaco López, Allan and Paulinho.
Referee Davi Lacerda booked him for making provocative or mocking gestures towards the home crowd during the celebration, as recorded in his report. The complaint describes the act as obscene.
He has been charged under Article 258-A of the CBJD, which covers provoking the public during a match, and carries a suspension of two to six matches.
Paulinho later said he celebrated in his own way with team-mates and supporters, and that he did not intend to disrespect Flamengo. He said he went to acknowledge family and friends in a box, noting he is from Rio de Janeiro, and added that any provocation was part of the game. He said some Flamengo players thought it was aimed at the crowd, but he insisted it was directed at his family.
