The STJD plenary has upheld a three-match suspension for Carrascal, applied as a repeat-offender sanction after his straight red in Palmeiras' 3-0 win over Flamengo on 23 May, in the 17th round of the Brasileirão.

According to Globo.com, the midfielder will miss Chapecoense and São Paulo after the World Cup, having already sat out the Coritiba fixture before the pause.

He was dismissed on 20 minutes at the Maracanã with the game at 0-0, after catching Murilo in the face with the sole of his boot.

He was charged by the STJD prosecutor under Article 254 of the CBJD for violent conduct, an offence carrying one to six games.
