19-year-old Berry has been with Forest since joining from Manchester United last year, but he is preparing to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract in a few months in search of game-time at senior level.

The versatile attacker is a winger by trade, but he can play as an attacking midfielder and has recently featured as a centre-forward in the Reds' under-21 side.

Ashton-under-Lyne-born Berry began his footballing career on Manchester United's books from the age of five, and he worked his way up their youth ranks to the under-18 team before announcing his departure from the Old Trafford club at the start of last year.

He went on trial at Forest in February 2024, and scored against his former club in a U18 Premier League fixture to earn a contract in the East Midlands until 2025.

Forest reportedly beat off strong competition for his signature from the likes of Burnley and Rangers, who he each also went on trial with, but just over a year on and he is seemingly not happy with his progress at the City Ground, with an exit likely soon.

TEAMtalk have claimed that Championship clubs Stoke City, Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers are all keen admirers of Berry's talents, with the Potters pushing to sign him, while both the Canaries and Rovers have made enquiries about his availability.

The same report states that Forest have offered him a new contract, but he is set to snub their offer in search of regular first-team football. There is also apparent interest in his services from clubs in Europe, with Belgian side Westerlo among those keeping tabs.

Berry is clearly a talent, but whether he is ready for regular game-time at Championship level is unclear, considering he is yet to even feature in a senior game for Forest at 19-years-old.

With that said, his potential to become a good player is obvious, considering his past at United and interest from numerous clubs, and the Potters are believed to have held a long-standing interest in him ahead of the likes of Norwich and Blackburn. TEAMtalk claim that Mark Robins’ side are still very keen on signing Berry, and have kept tabs on his situation as the summer approaches.

The 19-year-old is thought to be seen as a great option for Stoke due to his ability and the fact he is available for free soon, and a move would possibly make even more sense if they are preparing for life in League One next season. Their Championship status hangs in the balance right now, with two points separating them and the drop zone with six games of the season left to play.

A squad overhaul is set to proceed in the coming months at the bet365 Stadium, with Robins likely to allow numerous fringe players to leave, while his top talents could depart, dependent on which league the club are in.

The likes of Million Manhoef and Bae Junho could leave this summer for sizeable fees, while Andre Vidigal is likely to make an exit and Lynden Gooch is out of contract. There is clearly set to be space for attacking additions in Robins' squad in the transfer window, and Berry could be a low-cost, high-potential option to sign, with a move across the Midlands surely likely to appeal on a personal level too.
