Joshua Kitolano decided the game in the third minute of second half stoppage time with a tidy finish, giving Sparta Rotterdam a 4-3 win at Feyenoord.
In the 40th minute, Kitolano opened the scoring for the visitors, converting after Tobias Lauritsen's pass to cap a break that put Sparta on course.
After the restart he continued to drive Sparta forward, finding the final third repeatedly and adding further attempts from midfield as the game stretched.
He finished with five attempts, three on target and two goals, plus 10 recoveries, one interception and one tackle won. His distribution held up under pressure too, with 39 accurate passes from 44 and eight successful final third passes.
Those numbers reflected his timing to arrive in the box and his capacity to link play between the lines, qualities that kept Feyenoord's shape off balance throughout the decisive phases.
Sparta Rotterdam climb from eighth to seventh. Feyenoord remain second and host Heracles next.
