Strasbourg close to signing Ishé Samuels-Smith from Chelsea | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, RC Strasbourg Alsace are close to securing the signing of Chelsea FC’s Ishé Samuels-Smith (19). The two clubs are negotiating a permanent transfer for the left-back, who can also play in the centre of defence.

Samuels-Smith first arrived at Chelsea in 2023 when he joined from fellow Premier League side Everton FC on a €4.5m move. The teenager has yet to make his professional debut, having spent time in both clubs’ youth teams. Since September, the defender has also been part of the England U19s.

Strasbourg will look to spend around €6m on Samuels-Smith as the club prepares for a season where they will expect to improve on a 7th-place finish in the league, and will hope to be heavily involved in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Le Racing start their season with the derby against FC Metz. The first one that head coach Liam Rosenior will experience since taking over the role last summer.
