Strasbourg closing in on €3m Giovanni Reyna signing with medical expected today | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace are closing in on the signing of United States international Giovanni Reyna from Borussia Mönchengladbach, according to a report from L’Équipe.

The 23-year-old forward is expected to undergo his medical examination in Alsace on Monday after Strasbourg reached an agreement with the Bundesliga club.

Reyna has been given permission to leave Mönchengladbach and travel to France, with the deal reportedly worth around €3m. Should he pass his medical, the American is expected to sign a five-year contract with Racing.

The former Borussia Dortmund prospect represented the United States at this summer’s World Cup and would add another attacking option to Strasbourg’s squad ahead of the new Ligue 1 campaign. His anticipated arrival follows the departure of Valentín Barco who recently returned to Chelsea after his spell in Alsace.

Strasbourg have already been active this summer, notably signing Diogo Sousa from Vitória Guimarães and Mateo Del Blanco from Unión de Santa Fe. Reyna is now set to become their latest addition as the club continues reshaping its squad.GFFN | George Boxall
