Strasbourg retain Matthis Abline interest | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace remain interested in FC Nantes’ Matthis Abline (22), who they have been following for the past two years, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Strasbourg may be in the market for a striker this summer, regardless of Emanuel Emegha’s future. The Dutchman has been linked with a move to partner club Chelsea and his departure could strengthen the need to add a reinforcement, or two, in this sector of the pitch.

Abline has a profile not dissimilar to Emegha and he has been a target for Strasbourg for two years. The Frenchman excelled on loan at Nantes in the second half of last season before making the move from formative club Stade Rennais permanent in the summer.

This season, he has netted eight goals in a struggling Nantes side and is now being linked with a move to RCSA once again. Les Canaris will need to raise funds due to the ongoing TV rights crisis, however, they are reticent to sell Abline.
