Strasbourg beat Lyon 3-1 on Sunday at Stade de la Meinau to end the visitors' seven-match Ligue 1 winning streak and rise from eighth to seventh.

In the 37th minute, Martial Godo latched onto Diego Moreira's through ball and slotted into the bottom corner to put the hosts ahead.

After the restart, Moreira doubled the lead with a precise strike from outside the box, set up by Samir El Mourabet following a corner (52.).

Roman Yaremchuk's introduction lifted Les Gones, and Corentin Tolisso converted his cross to reduce the deficit (59.).

El Mourabet then drew a foul from Clinton Mata for a penalty (79.). VAR confirmed the spot kick, and Joaquín Panichelli tucked his finish into the bottom right (83.). Panichelli is now on 13 Ligue 1 goals, second in the scoring chart.

Lengthy treatment for Sam Amo-Ameyaw led to a change in the ninth minute of second half stoppage time, extending the closing stages.

Le Racing carried threat throughout, producing 13 attempts with seven on target. Les Gones managed four attempts, hitting the target twice.

The result lifts Le Racing towards the European chase. Les Gones remain third. Next, Le Racing host Lens. Les Gones visit Marseille.
