L’Équipe report this afternoon that Strasbourg are looking to sign Ukranian full-back Eduard Sobol from Club Brugge, although Olympiacos man Oleg Reabciuk remains the number one target for the Alsatians.
The currently coachless Strasbourg have been struggling this season and have only just registered their second win of the campaign, beating a Lyon side in disarray to lift themselves out of the four-team drop zone. Their form cost Julien Stéphan his job earlier this month.
This window has seen the team focus on defensive signings, having already brought back Frédéric Guilbert as a reinforcement for the other flank. Sobol, who is under contract until the end of the 2024/25 season, has been plying his trade in Belgium since 2019, initially on a loan deal from Shakhtar Donetsk before the move was made permanent last year. He notably featured in the team’s impressive Champions League group stage campaign this autumn, with the Flemish outfit due to play Benfica in the knockouts.
