Strasbourg to make Chelsea’s Deivid Washington their club-record signing in €21m move

BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg will break their record transfer by signing Chelsea striker Deivid Washington (19) in a €21m move, according to a report this Friday from L’Equipe. The 19-year-old centre-forward has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Blues and the London-based Premier League club will offload the Brazilian player to their French sister side.

Washington signed for Chelsea from Santos last year in a €16m move, putting pen to paper over a seven-year deal with the Blues. The 19-year-old spent the better part of the 2023-2024 campaign with Chelsea’s U21 squad, with which he logged six goals in 11 games. Washington would be the second Chelsea player to sign for Strasbourg on a permanent basis after Portuguese winger Diego Moreira. Washington would sign a five-year deal with Liam Rosenior’s Les Alsaciens.
