Strasbourg top Ligue 1’s ranking for giving U21 players the most playing time

RC Strasbourg-Alsace are the Ligue 1 club that have given the most playing time to under-21 players over the last five league seasons, according to data from the latest report by the CIES Football Observatory.
With 18.6% of league minutes played by a total of 36 players who haven’t turned 21 yet, the Alsatians are ahead of Olympique Lyonnais (16.4%, 31 players) and Toulouse FC (14.6%, 29 players).
Stade Rennais (14.5%, 34 players) and Paris Saint-Germain (13.4%, 31 players) round off the top five. Olympique de Marseille, meanwhile, sit in 16th place in the rankings (3.5%, 23 players), just ahead of AJ Auxerre (3.2%, 22 players) and Stade Brestois (2.5%, 16 players).
Across the 55 top-flight leagues listed by CIES, Strasbourg rank second among clubs in Europe’s Big 5, behind FC Barcelona (20.7%, 34 players) and just ahead of Sunderland AFC (18.5%, 30 players), and 29th in the overall rankings.
