Strasbourg's ultras protested against multi-ownership during the Ligue 1 meeting with Monaco on Saturday, unfurling critical banners and targeting the city's mayor.

L'Équipe reports that the display followed a tifo celebrating their friendship with Karlsruhe supporters, and came two days after an open letter to mayor Catherine Trautmann.

They addressed the mayor again inside the stadium, accusing her of funding a censored ground with €160m and questioning Strasbourg's democratic credentials.

Fans also objected to the prohibition of "BlueCo Out" banners. In the first half they displayed messages that the squad may change but the project stays the same, prioritising trading over Racing, and asked whether the plan is sporting or financial.

Over the summer the group ended their two-year protest of remaining silent for the first 15 minutes of matches, but said their campaign would continue. On Saturday they made good on that stance.
