Strasbourg want to sign Nottingham Forest’s James McAtee on loan | OneFootball

James McAtee’s (23) move to Nottingham Forest has yet to work out. The England youth international could now make a swift exit on loan, according to a report from the BBC, confirmed by L’Équipe. 

BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella first revealed an interest from RC Strasbourg Alsace. McAtee has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days, and he is a player known to many who work within the BlueCo project, due to the time that he spent at formative club Manchester City. 

McAtee has struggled this season. He featured regularly for Manchester City last season and then captained England’s U21 side to Euros glory last summer, but since making the move to Nottingham Forest, he has made just one start in the league. He is one of many players to have suffered from the upheaval at the club this season.

Dilane Bakwa is another, but L’Équipe understands that the relationship between Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg is strong since the French winger made the switch over the summer, and it could facilitate a loan move for McAtee this January.
