Striker debuts for Corinthians Feminino in win over Atlético-MG

Throughout last Friday (13th), Corinthians visited Atlético-MG at Arena MRV, in a match for the debut of the 2026 Brazilian Women's Championship, and won 1-0. The Brabas' goal was scored by midfielder Letícia Monteiro halfway through the first half. The victory put Lucas Piccinato's team in contention for the top spots in the national tournament.

The match also marked the debut of forward Rhaizza, 27 years old, wearing the Corinthians jersey. The player started the match as a starter for the team led by Lucas Piccinato, who has been rotating the squad at the start of the year due to the tight schedule. The newly signed Brabas player had a regular performance and was substituted just eight minutes into the second half, after receiving a yellow card.

Rhaizza began her professional career in 2018 playing for Brasileirinho. The following year, she stood out and moved to Vasco da Gama. In 2020, after a season with the Rio team, she joined Real Brasília, from the Federal District. There, she stayed for two years and then moved to Flamengo, where she arrived with high expectations but ended up not meeting them and, as a result, had few opportunities.

In 2021/2022, she left Brazil to play abroad. In Europe, she played for KF Murlani in Albania and Beylerbeyi in Turkey. At the latter club, she stayed for two seasons (2022/2023 and 2023/2024), stood out, and scored ten goals throughout the local competition – the Brazilian with the most goals in a single edition of the tournament. Later, she had a stint in Chinese football with Changchun Dazhong. Last year, she returned to Brazilian football to play for Bahia.

In the Northeast, she scored 12 goals in 28 matches during the season, where she was the main player for the Bahia team, which faced Corinthians in the quarterfinals of the last Women's Brasileirão and ended up being eliminated. In the state championship, she was decisive in winning the competition in the final against archrival Vitória.

It is worth remembering that now the Brabas return to the pitch next Friday (20th). At 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time), Corinthians will host Fluminense at Neo Química Arena for the second round of the national tournament.
