Stuttgart considered Fabio Silva move before Dortmund switch

Speaking on Sky90, sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said Stuttgart had considered a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Fabio Silva before his switch.

Silva, 24, made his first league start of the term in Dortmund’s 3-0 win against Paderborn. Lining up with Serhou Guirassy, the Portuguese scored from the former Stuttgart striker’s assist.

“We also looked at him around a year ago,” Wohlgemuth said.

“Obviously, he is in a good spell at the moment, and Dortmund can therefore be happy that they have him.”

Silva has four goals and one assist in five appearances this term. He aims to become a regular under Niko Kovac, with Dortmund set to face Stuttgart on Saturday.
