According to Florian Plettenberg, VfB Stuttgart are in talks to sign Burnley centre-back Ameen Al-Dakhil.
It has previously been reported that last season’s Bundesliga runners-up are looking to add defensive reinforcement before the end of the transfer window, with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Sepp van den Berg just two of Die Roten’s previous targets.
Regardless, it is believed that deals for either defender are now off the table, with Stuttgart eyeing up Burnley’s Al-Dakhil.
As stated in the report, personal terms between Stuttgart and Al-Dakhil are not set to be an issue, with the 22-year-old making it clear he would be open to joining the club during talks with the German outfit.
Therefore, the deal would be dependent on whether Sebastian Hoeneß’s side can agree on a fee with Burnley, but it is understood that the two sides have held positive discussions thus far.
As well as this, after suffering a muscle injury that kept Al-Dakhil out for the majority of last season, there are concerns as to whether the defender would pass a medical at Stuttgart.
Despite this, the Swabians are looking to get a deal over the line as they look to fend off interest from Wolfsburg and Sevilla.
