Süle ruled out for months with serious injury | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have been rocked by the news that Niklas Süle will be out for several months.

The centre-back, who had just returned from an ankle injury, was forced off in Dortmund's 1-1 draw with Gladbach on Thursday.

And as head coach Nuri Sahin revealed at a press conference on Tuesday, Süle has suffered a serious injury.

"Unfortunately, we don't have such good news about 'Niki'. He will be out for a couple of months. He has a serious injury," said Sahin.

“It's the same injury as before. It's very unfortunate that someone falls or steps on the same spot twice. It's very, very bitter. We needed 'Niki' a lot, I think he played a good game again in Gladbach.”

Sahin confirmed that Dortmund will also be without Filippo Mané, Waldemar Anton and Julian Brandt for Wednesday's Champions League clash with FC Barcelona.

Maximilian Beier is a doubt after picking up a knock against Gladbach, while Karim Adeyemi could potentially return to the squad after working his way back from injury.

"With 'Maxi' [Beier], we have some hope that he'll be fit tomorrow or at the latest against Hoffenheim. We'll see tomorrow. Karim [Adeyemi] is back in training and he's training really well. We have to see if it makes sense to throw him in after such a long time," said Sahin.
