West Ham United should consider making a move for Mikey Moore this summer in case Crysencio Summerville departs
West Ham United's preparations for their return to the Championship are well underway, as the Hammers aim to ensure their time outside the top-flight is as short-lived as possible.
A far from ideal year has ended in disaster at the London Stadium for West Ham, with their 14-year stay in the Premier League ending with relegation to the Championship.
This is despite picking up 39 points across the season, one of the largest tallies collected for a relegated side, and though a 3-0 home win on the final day gave fans something to be hopeful for, Tottenham Hotspur's victory elsewhere confirmed their fate.
Now, as Nuno Espirito Santo prepares to delve back into the Championship over eight years after winning the second tier with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Portuguese head coach will be keen to ensure his side is as strong as possible and attack the division.
The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes, and Crysencio Summerville are bound to attract interest, with the latter being reportedly courted by Manchester United this summer.
Summerville, 24, scored five and assisted four in 31 league games for the Hammers as they were relegated, and is currently representing the Netherlands at the World Cup; his departure would be greatly felt.
Should Summerville indeed leave, the Hammers should be on the phone to Spurs to ask for a favour and crush Rangers' dreams in the process.

Across his career, Nuno has always preferred to utilise wing-backs over wingers, and as West Ham head into the Championship, whether he will continue that preference remains unclear.
The Portuguese boss did switch to a back four across the course of the campaign with the Hammers, with Summerville often used on his preferred left flank, indicating that he may well carry on to utilise a similar shape despite relegation.
If that is indeed the case, a gap on the left side of the attack will open up, and will need to be addressed by Nuno.
TEAMtalk have reported that a host of Championship clubs, as well as sides across Europe, are interested in making a move for Spurs youngster Mikey Moore this summer, having enjoyed a stellar campaign at Ibrox with Rangers.
Moore, 18, is widely regarded as one of the best young English talents around and is highly thought of at his parent club, Spurs.
In the most recent season, Moore made 47 appearances for Rangers across all competitions, scoring seven and assisting four, in what was his first taste of regular first-team football in his career.
He would feature heavily on the left flank in Danny Rohl's side, and though Rangers would ultimately miss out on the Scottish title to Celtic and falling behind Hearts, Moore remained a bright spark throughout.
Under contract in North London until the summer of 2030, Moore will likely be allowed to leave on loan once again this summer, as, at this stage, valuable minutes at Spurs are not a guarantee, and the Championship seems like the obvious next destination for his development.
If he wants to remain in London and close to home, a move to the Hammers would make sense, although with him revealing his family are Millwall fans, perhaps his switch to the London Stadium wouldn't be a popular one with everyone.
Nevertheless, West Ham ought to push their luck and make Moore a serious target this summer, with the youngster having the potential to take Nuno's attack to the next level, and would be an ideal replacement for the outgoing Summerville.

As West Ham prepare for an array of outgoings this summer, including Summerville, Nuno must have a plan to replace the Dutchman's output.
If he indeed sticks with a back four and preference towards wingers next season, Moore would be an excellent replacement for the former Leeds United player, and in what would only likely be a loan deal, there is little risk of the switch with high reward.
Moore must be at least considered by Nuno over the coming weeks and months, as with interest in the Spurs youngster set to be rife, West Ham cannot afford to be left in the dirt on this deal.
Although the Millwall factor will likely play a telling role in any deal occuring, West Ham would be remiss to not test the waters on a player who could set the Championship alight next year.
