The 18-year-old has attracted plenty of interest in recent months and with good reason, with the youngster managing to shine in the Championship at such a young age.

Having played a small role at Birmingham City before his switch to the Stadium of Light, he will be delighted with the amount of game time he was able to get under his belt during the 2023/24 campaign.

Starting regularly, the England youth international was able to prove his worth and he will only get better, meaning the Black Cats are likely to make a very healthy profit on him if they decide to cash in on the teenager in the future.

Birmingham do have a 15% sell-on clause, which means they should profit from the Black Cats' future sale, but the Wearside club should still make a lot of money despite this clause.

Latest on Jobe Bellingham amid Crystal Palace and Brentford interest

Palace do hold an interest in Bellingham, but Give Me Sport have reported that the club don't see him as a vital part of their summer plans.

They are unsure whether the 18-year-old is the type of player that they want to take on board ahead of Oliver Glanser's first full season at the helm at Selhurst Park.

Instead, the Eagles may decide to recruit players who are more ready to play top-flight football, having already operated at that level before.

However, Give Me Sport have failed to rule out a Palace move for the player, with the Eagles seemingly long-term admirers of the Englishman.

Brentford, who have also been linked with a move for Bellingham, are concerned about whether the player has the quality to represent the Bees regularly at the top level just yet.

This latest news could be a boost for the Black Cats, who will be keen to retain him.

Jobe Bellingham should be looking to remain at Sunderland for now

The top flight is not a forgiving league and Bellingham will be left behind if he isn't ready to be a valuable contributor for the likes of Palace and the Bees.

Not guaranteed a huge amount of game time at either club, he should be looking to stay at the Stadium of Light at this stage.

His sale could potentially help the Black Cats to keep Jack Clarke at the club, but Bellingham is a man who should be retained, considering he could be worth much more next summer.

If he plays regularly again next season, he should only be better than he was last term, with the player gaining a lot of experience during the previous campaign.

And the Stadium of Light is the best place for him to develop, with the Black Cats giving plenty of young players a chance to shine.

Moving now would be a big risk and it's a big risk that he doesn't need to take, with the player still having plenty of time left on his contract.
