Red and White Army has issued a positive update after meeting interim chief executive Tom Burwell and other Sunderland representatives to address ticketing concerns raised by supporters.
According to Sunderland Echo, the talks were constructive, the club acknowledged problems around cancelled away tickets and season ticket renewals, including efforts to switch seats to other parts of the ground, and steps were taken to resolve individual cases where possible.
Most affected fans received positive outcomes, and processes have been tightened where feasible. The group will keep pressing the club to learn lessons and improve future ticketing.
The meeting followed public complaints late in the season. It also covered recent staffing changes, characterised as strategic rather than reactive and aimed at operating successfully in the Premier League.
For away travel, Sunderland intends to deploy its own stewards on busy LNER services, after a Bournemouth trial in which behaviour appeared to improve.
With the 2025/2026 campaign complete, RAWA plans to liaise soon with the FSA on European matters, noting Sunderland are now a European club. Paul Nelson and Jane Hughes represented RAWA at a recent Premier League Fan Advisory Board meeting at Villa Park.
